The museum provides a concise history of Grenada’s heritage. It establishes a centralised area where the rich past of the tri-island state is prominently displayed for the edification and enjoyment of visitors and locals alike.
Displays range from Amerindian artifacts and plantation records, to articles and pamphlets written on the Grenada Revolution 1979 – 1983. Audio and video footage of historic events, current festivals and even hurricane visitations to our island are also accessible.
The museum’s purpose is to support and augment the holistic approach of the Spice Basket experience.
Spice Basket also welcomes the West Indies Cricket Heritage Centre (High Five), the world’s first and only display offering an insight into Caribbean social history through cricket.
